What should the subject of my research paper be?

I plan on doing a research paper which focuses on rain forests.

What would be better:

presenting information on the broader topic of the destruction of the rain forests(which would mean writing about the various causes, effects, and ways of reduction),

or

presenting information regarding the biodiversity of the rain forests, which would mean looking at various species (including their behavior, appearance, etc, etc, etc).

I'm pretty sure I will do the paper on biodiversity, however, I am just curious as to other opinions.

Oh...the paper is 20-30 pages.

What should the subject of my research paper be?
I like your idea about researching the biodiversity of rain forests. You may want to focus on the rain forests of a particular region eg. Brazil, Australia, etc.

Don't forget to make use of your local library Web site (public or college) to complete your research. Libraries make available a variety of databases for finding articles from magazines, journals, etc.

Example databases: Science Full Text Select, ProQuest, Ebsco, SIRS, etc.
