What are three topics I could use for a research paper?

We have to do a research paper on anything we want for English. I need some ideas. The paper can only be 3-4 pages long so I can't have a topic that is to broad.

What are three topics I could use for a research paper?
Compare and contrast two works. (This is really easy. Take a main or minor character from one work and compare them to another. There is a ton of research on this and it's really good for any works.)

Discuss how two characters work as foils (Complete opposites that work together. Think Han Solo ( Short guy) to Chewbacca ( Big Wookie). )

Do a controversial issue such as women's rights or immigration.
Reply:In health topics, try Tourette syndrome, it's symptoms, what having it means, what it makes you do, how it affects one's life, and any treatments for it. check the library, it's got it all.

plants- perinneal's verses annuals-( cats claw ) is an interesting plant as it's used for medicinal purposes as well as for a hardy vine.

music- how it affects our mood, our behaviour.
Reply:new info on Edgar Allan Poe suggests that the stories about his drug use are untrue - written by enemies ( well, i DID read that)

pack any writer you like - write about how his/her life or childhood is reflected in his/her worrk
Reply:The question should be what are you interested in, that's what you write your paper on, I think your teacher will be looking more at your writing and research skills than what the actual topic is. Good Luck
Reply:1. The first thing you need to do is to choose the right research paper topic because it is the key to a successful writing and strong mark. Try to find a narrow topic for your work.

2. Information is the necessary part of research paper writing. It can be found in libraries and on the Internet through search engines and online resources.

3. Thesis writing is the next step in composing a research paper. It must reflect your own point of view on the topic as the entire work is aimed at supporting your thesis statement.

4. Research paper outline must include points which lead to the general topic of your work. The purpose of an outline is to organize your writing and follow these points carefully.

5. The gathered information for assignment should be organized in conformity with outline and supported with evidence from reliable sources.

6. You should write your first draft of the work. Read your notes, concentrate on the topic, and support your major idea with quotes. Organize your notes according to your outline marking them with #, or A, B, C.

7. Check your outline and the first draft. Read the paper, edit it and proofread. Check figures and quotes once again. Arrange it according to your outline.

8. Revise your research paper and check whether your work states and supports its purpose clearly.

9. Arrange all quotes following the format and style. Check your final work for spelling and punctuation.
