What are some good debatable ideas for a research paper?

I have to write a research paper for school and I'm not sure what topic I want to right about yet. We have to be take a side on a matter. I actually want to be some what interested in my topic though. I like sports mainly soccer and a lott of other stuff.

What are some good debatable ideas for a research paper?

Should American baseball be allowed to call its series the "World Series" when it only includes baseball teams of the USA.
Reply:Hey a great topic you could research and write a controversial paper about it the positives of steroid use in professional sports. Most people will disagree with me and you but hey that makes it debate able an example is Lance Armstrong he used steroids granted he had cancer but what if he didn't he wouldn't have had those steroids and won the tour de france 6 times. There are two sides to every argument.





You could write a paper about the positives of rising oil prices. eg. getting off of fossil fuels, necessity is the mother of invention and on and on.
