How do you go about creating a thesis for a literary research paper?

I'm a sophomore right now in high school, and we have to do a literary research paper on the book that we've read, mine being Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson. I've found information about his bio and some literary criticism, but i'm still confused on like how to make a thsis for this type of paper. my teacher says that its supposr to have threee parts, and like you're suppose to be taking a stand. I need help please!!

Thanks!

How do you go about creating a thesis for a literary research paper?
First, look at your book and pick out a topic in there that interests you. Next, you need to do a bit of research on this topic and if youre still interested in doing this topic, start writing a brief outline on how the topic applies to the book and how it applies to you/the world. Your thesis should involve the topic and what you feel/your views on the topic and how the book presents this topic.
Reply:I think your teacher wants a thesis that includes your point of view on his work. I think you need three parts because those three points you make will probably be what each of your body paragraphs are about.
