What would be a good topic for a research paper? Informative or one sided?

I hvae to Write a 7 page research paper for english. It need to either be and informative paper or one that i am for or agaisnt one side. It needs to be something that can easily be looked up.

What would be a good topic for a research paper? Informative or one sided?
argumentative is my favorite. informative can be sort of boring sometimes.

i suggest something that is a hot topic- something having to do with politics whether national or local.

please don't do abortion as your topic! i am sure your teacher has read about 500 papers on this topic already.

by the way, wikipedia is a TERRIBLE source! it is edited by random people on the net... anyone can do it! granted there are people who "check" the validity of the information, you can never be too sure! better to use a book or a valid web-site!
Reply:I just did a 12-page informative paper on DNA profiling and the pros and cons. I used databases and the general Internet and found a lot of info. You could even do an argumentative paper on whether you feel it is ethical or not.
Reply:I don't really know what you are interested in, but I can give you ideas of things I have done in the past:

How to Survive a Zombie Attack

Batman: The Greatest Superhero of All Time

An Analysis of the American Government from the Perspective of the TV show The Simpsons

Science Fiction: A New Way of Life (about ppl who obsess over fantasy)

My past teachers loved these topics. If you could give an idea of what literature you are studying I could give you some ideas for those. (if you are looking for something based on what you've read)

Hope this helps! Good Luck!
Reply:It is best to write about something you are interested in. Once you got that, I always go to Wikipedia before every research paper I write. Don't copy anything from there, but it usually hits all the main points that you will be writing about. It also has links to place you can actually cite.

I personally prefer an informative paper. "Info dump" papers are easy cause you just puke out facts. If you did a one sided then you'd have to show evidence to why your way of thinking is correct.
Reply:The Pros and Cons of Stem Cell Research.
Reply:Abortion, Gun Control, Capital Punishment, The war on Iraq.

All are topics with alot of information for and against them out there.
Reply:topic your best ? what is it ? for ? against?

think what are you good at ? find think note till you have it all then write [don`t for get the topic
Reply:You can do a study on Nato expansion. Learn all about it at www.nato.int it will tell you all you need to know about the (North Atlantic Treaty Orginization.)
Reply:One sided. Once you get on a topic that you feel passionately about you will not be able to stop writing. I just did a 10 page one for college and it turned out great.
Reply:Of course it depends on your interests, but SUBURBAN SPRAWL is a topic that has social, political, economic and other implications, which would make it an interesting topic. Lots of books and articles about it to. You could check out the American Planning Association for resources.
Reply:If I were you, I'd choose the argumentative research paper. That way, you can find something you're passionate about and research it. Find a controversial issue such as standardized testing in public schools and how it affects student performance. Are these tests actually measuring how intelligent people are or wasting time? There will be a TON of research available.
