How should I start this research paper about Dracula?

My research paper for English is to write about whether I think Dracula is a highly evolved human or a monster. I honestly don't think he's either, but I'm leaning towards highly evolved human.

So what kind of articles or books do you think I should research because right now I have no idea where to look. I don't know how to connect Dracula with human evolution. The topic of evolution is so vast so it's nearly impossible to find one that could relate to something like vampirism.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

The Historical Dracula
Reply:I would say he is more mutated man than evolved. There were notes of sexual ambiguity in the book, which was very taboo at the time as his need for blood knew no bounds. He didn't evolve, which is, I believe to improve, but became more dependent on blood
Reply:Start with a sentence stating clearly that you are considering whether Dracula is a highly evolved human or a monster. If you are supposed to support one view, you have to state that and leave out the other possibility. It would be easier to say he is a monster because of the monstrous things he did. I believe you are talking about the fictional Dracula rather than the man people feel he is based on.

If you are considering evolution, you could say that a being who can sustain life simply by drinking the blood of another human (or animal) and rest untouched by decay in a casket for years on end without dying, is better able to face any disaster or scarcity that might kill a normal human.

I hope you have read Dracula. It is very interesting in plot and character and, like Frankenstein, spawned an entire industry of books, short stories, movies, and Halloween costumes.
Reply:go to wikipedia and type in dracula/nosferatu/ those famous vampires as they usually have something in common.
