Which is a better topic for a 10 week research paper?

I have to write a research paper for my english class. What do you think would be a more interesting long-term topic, Sigmund Freud's theories of the Oedipus complex, and Freudian slips, or the role of women in fairy-tales? Two very different topics, but what do you think would be better? I'd also appreciate it if you could give a reason for your answer and maybe some books (literary books) that might have to do with that topic.

Either would be good, but while the fairy tale idea would allow for more creativity, i find the Sigmund Freud idea to be much more interesting. You could go so many different ways with it. I'm not sure of too many books you could use for it, but try Lolita by Nabokov
Reply:The role of women in fairy-tales.

It seems much more interesting, and you could get a lot of great paragraphs of the differences of the women in different stories, but also join it up in the end with the similarities of them all.
Reply:the role of women in fairy tails sounds more creative, interesting, and allows you to have fun and be smart with it, so i vote for that one.
Reply:I like Sigmund Freud because you can find a lot of books, research articles, debates and etc. Plus I find the topic to be quite interesting, should be fun spending 10 weeks studying Freud!
Reply:I really like the fairy-tale idea, but you will have to define fairy tale and stick to stories that fit your definition.
