I'm starting a research paper, but how do i start my introduction?
go general more specific than speicific for example

Throughout the world there are many people without homes. In the United States most of the major cities and from the east to west coast have homless people In Los Angles California many homless people roaming the streets and nothing is being done to prevent this surplus. Although there are many people there are many ways to prevent homlessness in not only California but the world.
Reply:Your introduction should give background information on homelessness and it should tell the reader why he should care. Talk about how bad it is.

The intro is a great place to put in "There are this many homeless people living in LA." Your intro should also include the answer to "why is homelessness bad?" Something like "Homeless people are twice as likely to die than the average American." (I made that up, but I"m sure you can find something like that)
Reply:something like this: Homeless people can happen either by loss of money, loss of home, and loss of work. Homelessness is a matter that is affecting many people. Therefore, I will be discussing in detail about homeless people, and how to try to prevent people from becoming homeless.
Reply:You need a good attention getter. Something to give an introduction into what you are going to be covered and to grasp the readers attention. Perhaps something like "what would happen if you were to become homeless tomorrow" might just do it!
