Writing a 1000 word research paper on a band?

I have a research paper due in my English Comp class tomorrow. It needs to be 1000 words. I have no idea what to write about, so I thought i'd like to write about something i'm interested in. Would writing a research paper over a band I like be a bad thing? I mean, technically we are allowed to write about just about anything, so I don't see why not. What are some things I could include in the paper to make it more of a "research paper" though?

Reply:that is a great idea, I would recommend a band that has been around a long time with alot of history that you can write about. And when you really have an interest in the subject, it doesnt take long to write 1000 words.
Reply:ive done many bands for my research papers. i would much rather do bands than any other subject. you could just write about its history.

Reply:Bad Religion - They've been around since the 80's and the singer is a professor of Life Sciences in UCLA. It'd be very easy to stretch out an essay talking about his lyrics pointing to certain social issues.

Reply:You might want to include in your paper how the band was formed, the struggles if any to get where they are at today, and their achievements or contributions to the music era.
Reply:i can see why the guy up there said pick a band that's been around for a long time,, but you will get bored pitless,, if you pick one you don''t like, i bet you could write 5 pages on what band you like rather than one you didn''t like, anyways get writing there, cos' if not you will be repeating your grade! xD
