I am writing a really long research paper and want to know if it is ok to include pictures? It is a history paper, and I would put pictures of the buildings I'm writing about.
Should I include pictures on my research paper?
I would do it. I think teachers always appreciate extra creative effort in term papers (or any assignment) and including pictures or graphs or charts shows you really thought about it.
Do remember to sight the photographer or source of the picture. Put "Photo copyright (name)." under the photo, after your caption if your have one.
Reply:If you're specifically referencing physical features on the buildings and have examples of those features, then it's probably okay. Otherwise, stay away from putting pictures in papers.
Reply:If the pictures have some kind of direct relevance (you refer to it specifically in the writing) then it's ok. Just label it properly, and cite it.
If it's just for decoration, don't put it in.
Reply:Only charts and graphs should be put into a research paper. No pictures that include buildings.
Reply:What does the teacher want??? Ask him/her.
