Help with writing a thesis statement for a research paper?

I have to write a research paper, I chose to write on how gangster rap's lyrics are disrespectful/inane/unacceptable in many ways and how they promote and glamorize muggings, killings, gangs, guns and so forth. Please help me put this in a thesis statement, thank youuu!

Although Gangster Rap's lyrics have been seen as disrespectful, inane, and unacceptable by many people, there is a proven way that the lyrics often promote violence, gangs, money, and the sexual exploitation of women


then How?
Reply:It would probably be better to contrast two songs and explain how each of them influence certain groups of people. One of rap nature and one that is totally opposite ... probably some old hippie song about love and living together in peace. I'm thinking of someone like James Taylor or something.





Your thesis would probably be something like, "Almost everyone living on Earth choses what music mosts influences him or her, yet those influences can often reflect ideas and/or actions that leave either positive or negative effects on society."

Reply:Well I don't agree on the topic but I can still give you a thesis. Just be like:





Gangster Rap's lyrics have been seen as disrespectful, inane, and unacceptable by many people. The lyrics often promote violence, gangs, money, and the sexual exploitation of women.





Then in the 3 body paragraphs, just talk about 1 of those 3 things in each one.

Reply:Well, they obviously do those things. Choose something to argue about. I once had a professor tell me that an A paper always started out with a thesis that he didnt agree with.





Maybe you can still use all of the things you stated about rap, but focus on how its a necessary/unneccesary part of the world and why.
