What are some possible research paper topics?

I am writing an 8 page research paper and I am trying to think of good topics for it. We are allowed to write about anything we want so choosing one particular thing that interests me is difficult. Any ideas?

Highly controversial topics may be your best bet because there is tons of research for both sides.





For example, abortion, the death penalty, gay marriage, the war in Iraq, euthanasia, along with others are all highly controversial and easy to find information on.
